Former President Goodluck Jonathan Establishes Sports Club In Bayelsa State

Former President of the Federal Republic of NIgeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has established a Sports Club in his country home, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital, BestChoiceSpo.com.ng can report
The new sports club named GEJ Sports Club was unveiled on Sunday, July 25, 2021.
The former Vice President who was present at the unveiling called on relevant stakeholders to partner with the club to help it nurture and grow young talents.
Ahletes and children who honoured the event were awarded with various gifts for their performance at the opening ceremony
Mr Jonathan who was Nigerians President from 20210 to May 2015 expressed joy over the Sports Club.
“Today, (Sunday) it was a delight and honour to host friends and sports enthusiasts at the official opening of Gej sports club in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
“The Club will be pleased to partner with relevant stakeholders to grow and nurture young talents that will make Nigeria and Africa proud,” the former president said on his official Facebook page.
During his time as Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan was honoured with CAF Platinum Award at the 2013 Glo CAF award night held in Lagos Nigeria.
The award conferred on the head of state of Africa’s most populous nation marked the highpoint of Nigeria’s dominance at the Gala night which took place at the Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos.
In 2010, Jonathan disbanded the Super Eagles following their abysmal performance at that year’s World Cup in South Africa.
However he rescinded the decision days after FIFA threatened to ban Nigeria from football.
