The immediate past Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung has congratulated his newly inaugurated successor, Mr Sunday Dare.

Dare was among the 43 minister sworn in on Wednesday August 21, 2019 and takes over from Barrister Dalung who oversaw the ministry from 2015 to May this year.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Nneka Anibeze, Dalung who was surprisingly dropped by President Buhari from the new ministers, said that he has no doubt that the newly appointed minister will make a mark in sports development and youth empowerment in the country.

He wished the communications expert a success in his new endeavour as the number one youth and sports administrator in Nigeria.

Not unexpectedly, as has become the unwanted tradition of appointing ministers with little or no sports background in sports into the ministry, Sunday Dare belongs to this ingloriously established tradition by past and present Nigeria president.

The Oyo State-born Sunday Dare is a veteran Nigerian journalist with over 28 years’ experience and a graduate of Law. Dare has experience in Television and radio journalism, electronic and print media and decades of multimedia journalism experience spanning over 25 years.

His last appointment was as the Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC).
