President, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Amaju Pinnick has disclosed that he played a role in discovering and nurturing 2020 Olympics long jump bronze medallist, Ese Brume, www.bestchoicesporta.com.ng can report.
Mr Pinnick who is reportedly scheming to return as the Federation’s president for a third term, said he was fulfilled with Brume’s career progression.
Pinnick was particularly delighted at the performance of the multi-talented athlete who won the women’s long jump bronze
“I am happy for Ese (Brume) because I played a role in her discovery and nurturing.
“I am fulfilled at her career progression and I believe she will be there in Paris in three years’ time to win the gold medal,” the FIFA Council member said.
Ese Brume won Nigeria’s first medal at the just concluded 2020 Olympics in Tokyo before Blessing Oborududu won silver in Wrestling to ensure that Team Nigeria returned home with two medals.
Nigeria was placed 74th on the global table and 8th on Africa table at the end of the Summer Games which held from Friday, 23 July to Sunday, August 8, 2021
