The Adamu Yola Tangale Unity Cup Match Day One witnessed a mammoth crowd at the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo Stadium Kaltungo, Gombe State.

The first match between Highlanders Tula and All Stars FC kicked off by 2by with more than half of the pavilion covered with fans. The fans number grew to fill up the pavilion before the end of the first match.

The second match of the day between Shembe United and Bare City FC witnessed more crowd.

Speaking with the chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Alhaji Faruk Aliyu Umar appreciate the people for coming out in their numbers to support the teams of their choice.

“Football is one of the things that brings the people together and make them happy, I am very happy that people turned out in their numbers today, we hope to do more to encourage them to come out and cheer their teams to victory,” he concluded.

The general coordinator of the tournament Mr. Promise Uwaeme thanked everyone who was involve with the success of match day one and promised to encourage those things that will promote the tournament and help achieve the aims and objectives of the tournament.

“First, I must appreciate everyone who was involve in one way or the other in the success we recorded today especially the people of Tangaleland who trouped out in their numbers to witness the matches of today,” Mr. Promise stated.

“I’m concerned with the things that will affect the aims and objectives of the tournament which is Promoting Peace and unity in Tangale land, so we (myself and the entire LOC) have taken the decision to ensure that things like security crowd control and officiating are top priority to ensure we achieve success and by the grace of God, today was a success for us despite some hitches here and there,” he added.

Actions returned on Thursday December 19th 2019 at the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo Stadium Kaltungo by 2pm.
