Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Kano state chapter has set up an electoral committee to conduct elections into its state exco, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The state exco at the end of its executive meeting held at Radio Kano on Tuesday 18th Augusut, revealed that their three years tenure in office will terminate on 7th September, 2020.

The exco meeting chaired by the acting chairman of the state chapter, Musiabu Bala Yan Gurasa resolved that in the spirit of SWAN statues, the ELECOM that conducted the last election should be inaugurated to conduct the 2020 state polls.

The exco further resolved that the state Single congress would be held on August 29th 2020, adding that the ELECOM would then proceed to unravel an election time table and guidelines.

It was further agreed that the electoral committee would be given 30 days within which the electoral umpire is expected to supervise the election of new state exco.

Our correspondent gathered that the exco further resolved that all members who are in arrears in the payment of their annual members fees should proceed to upset their backlog dues, in compliance with the directives from SWAN national headquarters. for the affected members to be eligible to vote and to be voted.
