Bundesliga side, RP Leipzig has denied any deal with EPL giants, Chelsea for their striker, Timo Werner

Earlier in the week, reports suggest that Werner had agreed to sign for Chelsea in a deal worth £53 million and wages of £180,000-a-week.

However, Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has denied the reports that the Blues have agreed to sign the striker this summer.

Mintzlaff denied the reports before Leipzig took on SC Paderborn in a Bundesliga clash that saw the two teams settle for a 1-1 draw.

“We haven’t had an exchange with Chelsea yet. So far, Timo Werner has not drawn the clause, nor has a club sent a transfer contract,” he said.

“We have nothing to report and do not take part in the daily speculation,” he added.

The 24-year-old, who has netted 31 goals across all competitions this season, was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool before the Chelsea reports emerged.
