In an exclusive interview with Best Choice Sports from his base in the United Arab Emirates, UAE on Friday, Marcello said his club Gulf United Football Club needs only three points to lift UAEFA Division Two League trophy and qualify for President Cup next season.
“We have 37 points, If we win Al Hilal Football Club in our next home game on Sunday at Sevens Stadium , we will secure 40 points and lift the trophy.
“Am very excited about my club’s performance this season. The teams in UAEFA Division Two are tough and hard, no doubt but against all odds, we keep on winning,” he said.
It would be recalled that Gulf United won the UAEFA Division 3 League last season with five Nigerian players in the team and gained promotion to the Division Two
A winning Sunday will get Mr Marcello and his lads automatic promotion to the Division One, which would give them the opportunity to battle for promotion to the UAE Pro League in 2024/2025 season.
The Nigeria national league brand Ambassador said his club signed Five Nigeria players in the division two league this season.
The former Arsenal soccer said he’s relying on Almighty God and two out of Five Nigeria players in the squad, Mike Gbajie & Sampson Nyada to lift the trophy on Sunday
