Slaven Bilic  has become the first English Premier League manager to lose his job in the current season after he was sacked by new comers, West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday

In a statement, the club said: “West Bromwich Albion have today parted company with Head Coach Slaven Bilić.

“Assistant Coaches, Dean Računica and Danilo Butorović, and First Team Coach Julian Dicks have also left the club with immediate effect.”

Bilic leaves Albion at 19th place with seven points from 13 fixtures with his team having held Man City to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad on Tuesday night.

The statement continued: “Albion would like to thank Slaven and his coaching staff for their efforts in achieving promotion last season and wishes them all well in the future.

“The club will make no further comment at this time. “

The former Croatia national team manager has been at the Hawthorns since June 2019 and led the club to promotion as runners-up in his first season in charge.

The position has attracted a number of names in the English soccer scene with former England manager Sam Allardyce believed to be the frontrunner for the job
