Moses Simon Tenders Apology Over Super Eagles Latest Poor Outings

Winger, Moses Simon has tender apology to Nigeria football fans following recent poor performances churned out by the Super Eagles with latest being their 1-1 draws in their first two matches in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

The Super Eagles shockingly played a 1-1 draw with visiting Lesotho on Thursday in their first match of the 2026 World Cup qualifying race in Uyo which was followed up with similar result in their away game against Zimbabwe in Rwanda on Sunday

The draw which then mounted intense pressure on the team with two points from two matches, however, gave way to a sigh of relief on Tuesday as Rwanda defeated South Africa then leaders to occupy the leadership of Group C with 4 points.

Moses who played the two matches, apologised to the Nigeria fans that the results were not what they expected adding that the football followers in the country deserve better than the last two performances.

“Big apologies to our fans, you deserve better than the performance against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

“Not the result we wanted but we will surely bounce back,” he said on his “X” formerly Twitter handle.

The FC Nantes of France attacker noted the team had overcome challenges in the past adding that now is the time to reflect on the matches and bounce back stronger.  

“We have overcome so many challenges in the past. And now is the time to reflect and come back stronger”
