Niger Tornadoes Chairman Bags Award Of Excellence

Niger Tornadoes Chairman Hon. Adamu Aliyu Mohammed has been presented with an Award of excellence by the Minna Referee Society.

Presenting the award at the Niger Tornadoes Secretariat, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, the Chairman Chanchaga Referee Council, John J. Magaji said, the essense of singling out the Tornadoes Chairman for the award, was as a result of his testimony of exemplary leadership quality, great contributions to the growth and development of football in Minna and Niger State as a whole.

While praying for a hitch free and successful football season, John Magaji declared total support to Niger Tornadoes FC on behalf of all his members.

In their separate remarks at the event, the State Secretary, Niger State Referee Society and Former Niger Tornadoes Media Officer, Mohammed She alongside Former Secretary Niger Tornadoes FC, Umar Mohammed who is currently a Premier League Match Assessor, describes Adamu Aliyu as an excellent administrator with an exceptional man management skills, who has always provided effective leadership when ever his is called upon to serve on any capacity.

While assuring of their total support to the team, they called on the Chairman not to relent in his effort to stare the team out of the second tier of Nigeria Football League to the elite division.

In his acceptance remark, Hon. Adamu Aliyu Mohammed who expressed satisfaction to the referees society, said, ” I’m a man of many parts and guided by principle, I want to sincerely thank you for finding me worthy of this award, I am specifically delighted, because this is a grass root award which I believe would spur me to do even more”.

The Chairman took time to explain some of the challenges confronting Niger Tornadoes and the great task ahead and also, the need for all critical stakeholders to unite behind the team irrespective of inclinations.

He said, Niger Tornadoes might be in NNL at the moment but he has not allow that to affect the standard of the team as a Premier Club, based on the recommendation of H.E Alh. Abubakar Sani Bello who had earlier given a matching order for the club to be returned back to NPFL.

Adamu Aliyu said Niger State is blessed with people who have all it takes to run football in all ramifications but a greater synergy must be devised among stakeholders to be able to place the state on the right pedestal.
