Abia State government on Tuesday inaugurated the board members of the state sponsored football clubs – Enyimba FC, Abia Warriors FC and Abia Comets FC.

The event took place at office of the commissioner, ministry of Sports and youth development in Umuahia, the state capital

Addressing the boards members, the commissioner, Mr Nwaobilor Ananaba, said the members of the boards were carefully selected by His Excellency, Governor Alex Otti, based on their experience in football management.

He charged the members to abide by the terms of their appointments and work with the club chairmen closely through open and regular communication, bereft of conflicts and ensure effective governance to achieve sucess in line with Governor Otti’s desire of building a new Abia.

Highpoints of the event was the taking of oath of office by the appointees, and signing and of their appointment letters.

Those present at the event, include, Deputy Chief of Staff and Special Adviser to the Governor on Sports, Mr Chinedu Ekeke, Directors from the ministry of sports and youth development, friends and well wishers of the appointees.
