NPFL Matchday 34: Akwa United Seek Consolidation, Rivers United Hopeful, Nasarawa United Daring

There will fireworks across 10 different cities this evening as the 2021 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL Matchday 34 comes live.
3rd placed Rivers United is in the hunt to close the gap with league leaders Akwa United When the Pride of Rivers visit Jigawa Golden Stars.
Sunshine Stars will lock horns with Katsina United while pacesetters, Akwa United will seek to bounce back to winning ways against Warri Wolves. Akwa United played a 1-1 draw with visiting Rivers United in matchday 33 game on Sunday.
In other fixtures, MFM will host Plateau United in Lagos as a local derby between Lobi Stars and Nasarawa United comes calling in Makurdi, Benue State.
Nasarawa United are chasing the league crown as well as continental ticket. They are second on the log with 58 points and will seek to close the three points gap between them and Akwa United.
Another cracker today will see Flying Antelopes, Enugu Rangers host Kano Pillars in Enugu. Rangers have not been convincing in recent performances but they would seek to consolidate their continental push with a win against the visitors.
South East Oriental Derby is on the card as strugglers, Abia Warriors entertain Heartland FC in Umuahia just as Kwara United host Wikki Tourists in Ilorin.
The remain two games of the day will see Dakkada FC take on bottom-placed Adamawa United. Should Adamawa United lose the game, they will be as good as saying bye-bye to the league as they will be demoted to the Nigeria National League, NNL next season.
The last match of the day is another Oriental Derby on the South eastern part of the country with FC Ifeanyi Ubah hosting Enyimba International FC in Nnewi.
All Matches will kick-off same time, 4pm.
