Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo has described his new club, Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia as the best club in Asia ahead of his debut for his new club in the 2021 Club World Cup in United Arab Emirates, UAE, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Speaking in a short video with the club media ahead of their match this Sunday, Ighalo who thanked the fans and management for their reception, expressed optimism that the team, made up of good players will work hard to win the match.

“I want to thank everyone for accepting me here. This is my first time to play in this tournament, (Club World Cup) I am happy and looking forward to it.

“It (Al Jazira) is a good team. Like what the coach said yesterday, they are one of the best teams. We have a good team, good players that can win the game tomorrow (today) I believe that is we work hard tomorrow, we will win the game.

“We have good players in the team though I just joined them. I have played against this team.

“Al Hilal are the best team in Asia. My goal is to win,” he said on Saturday.

Asian Football Confederation, AFC Champions League winners, Al Hilal will take.on Al Jazira on Sunday for a place in the semi final.

Should the Saudi Arabia League champions win the match, they will face UEFA Champions League winners, Chelsea.

Having cruised past AS Pirae in the opening match, hosts Al Jazira take on AFC Champions League winners Al Hilal with a place in the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2021 semi-finals against Chelsea at stake.

The game marks the first time in the competition’s history that two teams from West Asia face each other, while both teams have finished fourth in their only previous Club World Cup appearance: Al Jazira in 2017 and Al Hilal in 2019.

While this will be the first encounter between the two sides in the competition, they have previously played each other on four occasions in the AFC Champions League group stage, with Al Hilal winning three times and one game ending in a draw. Al Jazira will be hoping their first-ever win in this tie will count the most.

The match will kick-off by 5:30 West Africa time.
