French club, Lyon have failed in an audacious bid to sign four-tie Africa Women’s Football of the Year, Asisat Oshoala from Barcelona, who rejected two bids by the all-conquering French side.

“The deal did not come off. All attempts made by Lyon didn’t go through” a SCORENigeria reported

Lyon sports director flew into Spain to snatch the Super Falcons skipper as a replacement for injured striker Ada Hergeberg.

It would have been a better pay day for Oshoala had the deal gone through.

The Nigeria star has been on fire in Spain with 14 goals in as many matches and Barcelona runaway leaders in Spain.

The Super Falcons forward made history in May 2019 when she became the first Africa Woman to score in UEFA Women’s Champions League Final. Oshoala was on target as Barcelona Ladies suffered 4-1 loss to Olympic Lyon in the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League in Groupama Arena.
