CAF To Announce World Cup Play-off Draw Date This Week

Baring last minute change in plans, the Confederation of Africa Football, CAF will this week announce the date for the draw of the 2022 World Cup play-off matches

Disclosing this during the weekend, CAF said the draw date will be announced after its Executive Committee meeting in Cairo, Egypt and the teams will be seeded according to latest FIFA ranking

“The dates for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 African Qualifiers Play-offs draw will be announced after next week’s CAF Executive Committee meeting in Cairo.

“The teams will be seeded according to the FIFA Coca Cola ranking,” CAF said.

The Executive Committee Meeting will be held on 25 November 2021 – on the eve of the Extraordinary CAF General Assembly that will be hosted also in Cairo on Friday, 26 November 2021.

CAF congratulates all the nations that have reached the final stage so far – one step away from booking their ticket to Qatar.

The 10 countries that have qualified for the play-off are Senegal, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Nigeria, Ghana, Mali, Egypt, Cameroon and DR Congo.
