Opinion: Akor Adams Knocking On Super Eagles Door With Exploits In French Lique 1
By Francis Achi
Few days ago, I watched Akor Adams feature for Montpellier against Toulouse in the French Lique 1 and I had reason to thank God for blessing Nigeria with quality strikers across Europe.
Despite not finding the back of the net in the game, I must admit that Adams was clearly a tormentor in higher dimension against the defenders of Toulouse in the game his team won 2-1 at away.
The former Flying Eagles striker is your clear definition of strenght, speed and skills in the attacking set up of Montpellier where he has scored eight goals so far in the French Lique 1.
It is interesting to note that the Kaduna- born striker has been consistent and if he continues to work hard, Nigerians should not be surprised if his name pops up as one the invited players to the Super Eagles.
His performance in France shows a player who is knocking on the door of the Super Eagles and from all indications, he truly has the quality to excel in the nest of the Eagles and compliment the strike force in the team, if given the opportunity.
It is very encouraging to know that Jose Peseiro, the former head coach of the Super Eagles had already monitored his progress in Europe and he was considering for a national call-up before his contract ended in Nigeria.
Finidi George, the new supremo in Super Eagles also has eyes to spot a good addition to the team. The ball is in the court of Adams to continue to excel.
So, Adams, keep working hard, keep tormenting defenders and goalkeepers in French Lique 1, keep scoring goals, keep soaring like the Eagle and the door of Super Eagles will be opened for you pretty soon.
