Pinnick, Dare Rapport: A Cracked Wall Set To Fall Apart As NFF Boss Prefers Dalung
By Insideglasshouse
The so-called cordial relationship between Sports Minister Sunday Dare and NFF President Amaju Pinnick will face several stress tests in the coming weeks particularly after Pinnick has been left baffled and confused about some of the recent moves of the Honourable Minister.
Pinnick has not been amused by the Minister setting up a committee to design a Master Plan for Nigeria Football for the next 10 years without carrying the NFF along.
NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi, a member of the committee, stayed away from the recent inauguration without any apologies and the NFF were also not represented at the occasion.
The composition of the committee headed by former NFF President Ibrahim Galadima has further made Pinnick most uncomfortable as he has stepped on the toes of more than half of the committee members to now lead Nigeria Football.
The sack-or-no-sack Gernot Rohr saga will also pitch both Dare and Pinnick in opposite corners especially after the Sports Ministry informed the NFF to immediately submit a technical report covering the Super Eagles 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign thus far.
The Ministry has declared that the Super Eagles is a national property and does not belong to an individual and so any major decisions concerning the team like hiring a replacement of coach Rohr must follow due process.
A source said: “Pinnick is not finding developments funny, he cannot figure out the Sports Minister.
“At a point he even said (Solomon) Dalung (former Sports Minister) was a better man, more straight forward than the current Minister (Dare).
“If Dalung is fighting you, you will know he is fighting you, but this other man (Dare) will be smiling with you and behind he’s fighting you.
“Pinnick will go on to say he even regrets going on national TV (Arise TV) to praise Dare and carpet Dalung.”
In the Arise TV appearance, Pinnick alleged that Dalung connived with others to sack him as CAF 1st Vice President.
