World Football governing body, FIFA and his African counterpart, the Confederation of Africa Football, CAF have postponed indefinitely, the 2022 World Cup qualifying match between host Guinea and Morocco, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

CAF announced the postponement of the match due to hold this Monday on Sunday.

The match was indefinitely suspended after a military coup in Gunea overthrow the government in Conakry on Sunday.

“The current political and security situation in Guinea is quite volatile and is being closely monitored by FIFA and CAF,” the two football bodies said In a joint statement on Sunday

“To ensure the safety and security of all players and to protect all match officials, FIFA and CAF have decided to postpone the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifying match Guinea vs. Morocco, which had scheduled to be hosted in Conakry, Guinea, on Monday 6 September.

“Rescheduling information will be made available at a later date,” it concluded.

Guinea’s Special forces seized political power in that on Sunday, capturing President Alpha Conde, announced a nationwide curfew “until further notice” as well as the replacement of governors by the military

The situation has made the country security volatile with Moroccan players and officials already in the country ahead of the scheduled Monday qualifier.
