The Plateau State Covid-19 Committee has approved the resumption of non-contact sports in the state, Bestchoicesports.com.ng understands.

The Director of Sports, Mr Simon Moven, in a briefing earlier today,  disclosed this to Coaches and Secretaries of the affected sports and mandated them to resume active training with immediate effect.

The none-contact sports include, Athletics, Badminton, Golf, Cycling, Squash, Table tennis, Para-athletics, Beach volleyball, and Tennis.

Others are, Cricket, Polo, Swimming, Rowing and Yatching, Shooting, Scrabble, Chess, Weightlifting and Powerlifting.

The Director also charged Sports Secretaries and Coaches to ensure athletes observe health protocol on Covid-19 before, during and after training sessions.

However, to ensure compliance with the the health measures, a task force set up by the council, which has the Director of sports as the chairman and other management staff as members, will monitor compliance.

Recall that the Presidential committee on Covid-19 in September 2020, lifted the ban imposed, particularly on none contact sports paving way for sports activities to resume since it was suspended in March this year.
