In one of the friendly matches played midweek in Abuja, the Coach Akin Onigbinde tutored lads defeated another Abuja-based side Alpha FC 3-1 in a friendly played on Wednesday at the Area 3 Play Ground.

According the media officer of the side, Mumeen Lanre, the friendly match became imperative in order to put the players in proper shape ahead of the restart of the 2019/2020 NNL which is yet to have a resumption date.

Both teams began the game well enough to hold the start until they eventually caved in the 17th mins when road Safety connected attacker Reuben connected an Azeez through ball to give the Safety guys their first goal in the game.

At 27th mins TJE second goal was scored by Udor one of Road safety strikers but it was cancelled by the referee for offside.

The Alpha boys did not give up as they orchestrated a counter move minutes later saw Road Safety goalkeeper called to duty as he saved the resulting shot to keep the scoreline still in favour of the away side, Road Safety.

At 40th mintues, a penalty was awarded for the Alpha boys due to a foul that was made by the away team defenders and the was well played and scored by Issah Aminu to balance the game. First half ended 1-1.

At the restart of the match, both teams started with good fighting spirits, but it was Road Safety who took the upper hand courtesy of a 50th minute goal by Gary to put the Road safety side on the lead.

The Alpha boys put up a fight back but their wings were caged when in the 79th minute, Road Safety scores their goal number three to take the game beyond the reach of the Alpha boys.

Both sides effors to add to score more goals yielded no dividends till the referee brought proceeding to an end.
