Word 100m hurdle record holder, Tobi Amusan has been cleared of Dopping Violation by the World Athletics, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Amusan on July 19 was suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unity, AIU after reportedly failing to disclose her whereabouts on three occasions in the past 12 months

However in a ruling on Thursday, August 17, the Disciplinary Tribunal of the World Athletics found Amusan not guilty of violating the doping rules.

“A panel of the Disciplinary Tribunal, by majority decision, has today found that Tobi Amusan has not committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) of three Whereabouts Failures within a 12-month period,” AIU said in a press statement on Thursday.

However, the body while expressing disappointment over the ruling, said it is exploring the option of appealing against the ruling.

“AIU Head Brett Clothier has indicated the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) is disappointed by this decision and will review the reasoning in detail before deciding whether to exercise its right of appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) within the applicable deadline. The decision is currently confidential but will be published in due course,” it said.

“I Am Thrilled And Look Forward To Defending My Title

Reacting to the ruling, Tobi Amusan expressed delight over the Tribunal’s decision adding that she has put the situation behind her and look forward to defending her title in Hungary next week.

While giving God all the glory, she thanked her fans for their support.

“This morning I found out that the Independent Tribunal that heard my case has ruled that | did not violate the whereabouts rules and as a result, | will not be sanctioned & none of my results will be precluded.

“I am thrilled to put this behind me, and | look forward to defending my title at next week’s World Championships. I generally have been & consistently will be an ally of CLEAN SPORT.

“To my Five Fingers; God is the greatest & | genuinely appreciate y’all for the support.”
