The of Team Nigeria winning a medal in the Badminton event at the Tokyo Games is fading away like the early morning dew.

Team Nigeria’s Badminton pair of Godwin Olofua and Juwon Opeyori ended their group phase campaign with a two straight set defeat 2-0 (21-8,21-10) to Russia’s Ivan Sozonov and Vladimir Ivanov.

They were dumped out of the games after a third consecutive defeat.

The team suffered a 2-0 (21-2, 21-7) defeat to the Japanese duo of Yuta Watanabe and Hiroyuki Endo in their first group game.

Denmark’s duo of Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup inflicted the Nigerians with a 2-0 defeat in their second group game (21-7, 21-10).
