Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has tested positive for COVID-19

His Italian club, Napoli confirmed the result on Thursday.

“SSC Napoli reports that the player Victor Osimhen tested positive, asymptomatic for Covid-19,” the club said

This development could be a set back as the former Lille hitman is due to arrive Super Eagles camp in Abuja in preparation for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

Osimhen has become a subject of dispute between his country’s FA and the Italian club following his inclusion in the 28-man squad by coach Augustine Eguavoen despite recovering from facial surgery.
