The Hope of many Nigerian coaches hoping to obtain CAF C License certificate has been quashed as the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has disclosed that it is not conducting any CAF C Coaching Course soon

The NFF disclosed this Friday in denial of report the it is conducting CAF C Coaching Course scheduled to commence from Monday, January 18, 2021.

NFF’s rebuttal came after a member of his Technical Department, Siji Lagunju was reported to have told thenff.com that over 80 coaches have registered for the two-week CAF C Coaching Course slated for Abuja.

The report Friday noted that former Super Eagles’ Coach and ex-FIFA Technical Advisor Adegboye Onigbinde, one-time NFF Technical Director Kashimawo Laloko, former Eagles’ Coach James Peters, are among instructors at the programme that will take place at the FIFA Technical Centre, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

In denying the report, the federation said “The attention of the NFF has been drawn to a phantom ‘CAF C Coaching Course’ being peddled by some individuals with the purpose of defrauding unsuspecting Nigerians.

“This notice and its content did not emanate from the NFF and there is actually no CAF C Coaching Course holding or about to hold in the country anytime soon.”

Africa Football federations such as The Gambia, Seychelles, Zimbabwe, South Africa, among other shave all had their CAF C Coaching Courses last year.

It could be recalled that the NFF held a first-ever CAF C License coaching course between September and October 2011, and followed up with a second one in April 2014.

The Federation also organized two CAF B-License programmes in March 2012 and September 2012.

The Caf in 2009 instituted a licensing system which will force coaches to fulfil some criteria before coaching locally or and in Africa and coaches must hold either a management diploma (managers) or a CAF A License also called CAF Pro licence

The licensing programme seeks to set and promote benchmarks regarding coaching on the continent and help recognise African coaches for their knowledge and experience.

Its key objectives is to ensure that each African coach or any coach operating in Africa possesses the relevant license to perform his or her duties.

Under the leadership of Amaju Pinnick led NFF, only one CAF organised Coaching Course (C License) was held in 2014.
