The Secretary of the NPFL Club Owners Association, Alloy Chukwuemeka, has appealed to various football stakeholders in country to join hands with the LMC to return the league to its former enviable position in the country.

Chukwuemeka asserted all hands must be on deck in order to achieve the astronomical rise to reclaim the once coveted position. “Our league was once rated number one in Africa; what is needed now is for all the stakeholders to join hands together and support the LMC so that we can consolidate on the achievements once recorded in order to climb from 9th to that first position again.”

The ABS FC Football boss who spoke on an interactive session on the FCT Football Update WhatsApp platform said In what may be a way of bringing about a good image and the desired result, that what is ultimate is conceptualization and notion. “We have to think outside of the box, avoid toxic acts capable of causing bad images,  de-marketing the league cum disaffection amongst stakeholders.”

Reacting on player’s welfare which clubs must always prioritize, Chukwuemeka, revealed how that it promotes the image and quality of the system in good light. “Yes I can confirm to you that few clubs in the NPFL pay salaries of over #1M naira to some players while some coaches earn over #1.5M naira. Again something like this helps in promoting the image and quality of the system media wise, but because of environmental factors the identity of the players and clubs are sometimes hidden due of security concerns.”

Chukwuemeka, quickly points to the fact that players in the Nigerian league are treated with esteem. “The official minimum salary in the NPFL is #150,000 as against #30,000 naira in the public services. With this development, you can see that the value of our players is high.” Chukwuemeka said.
