Former Bayelsa State FA Chairman, Victor Baribote, has offered explanations on why he went back to the university to obtain a certificate in Law.
Barrister Baribote was offered admission by the Adeleke University, Osun state to study law, where he had obtained a diploma in the same course in 2013.

The former 2nd Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, graduated from the university early this year and has proceeded to the Nigeria Law School, Abuja to finish up the study.

Speaking with Bestchoicesports.com.ng, the former Nigeria Premier league chairman said he went back to the university to study law not to get better payment in terms of work but to enhance his knowledge.

He also added that the urge to help those who are languishing in prison or suffering any kind of injustice just because they cannot afford the services of legal representation, informed his decision to obtain the law certificate.

“Well, in life they say you should not go to school to better your pay but you should go to school to have better knowledge. I went to study law because I want to have better knowledge and invariably assist vulnerable people that may not have the ability to defend themselves in the court.

“Definitely I will practise law. My intention first and foremost was to acquire knowledge and secondly assist people.
There are some people who are languishing in prison because they don’t have the money to engage the services of a legal practitioner. I don’t like cheating and that is why some of the problems I run into were because I want people to do the right thing,” he said
