Ahead of Friday’s kick off of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, Super Falcons player, Chidinma Okeke has expressed optimism that coach Thomas Dennerby will take the team to the final of the tournament, Bestchoicesports can report.

The FC Robo player who spoke with our correspondent before the team departed Austria Monday for France expressed delight over her inclusion in the final squad and vowed to justify the confidence reposed in her by the coach by working harder and putting up a good performance any time she is called upon.

“I feel happy about my inclusion in the final squad because it is going to help me showcase my talent to the world and boost my team also.

“I am ready to play at the World Cup and apply the coaches’ instructions. I know I will put in my best.

“The WAFU tournament we won is a major boost for me and the local players that participated in the competition. I am just coming up and I believe that any time I am called upon, I will deliver. My World Cup target is to play well and make my country proud.

“Coach Dennerby is a great coach and his instructions are superb. He is good in creating bond within the team and among the players. The bond is great and I believe he is going to take us to the World Cup final.,” she said

She called on the fans both home and in diaspora to continue to believe in the coach because “we will make them proud.”

The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup will kick off on Friday, June 8, 2019. Host nation, France will raise the curtain in the opener against South Korea. The match will commence by 8pm Nigeria time.
