The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF confirmed the departure in a statement on Friday

According to the release, the nine-time champions will fly into Ghana’s capital, Accra via a chattered Air Peace plane.

“The Super Falcons’ contingent to Sunday’s match will fly into Accra on Saturday morning aboard a chartered Air Peace jet.

“The team will have the official training at the Accra Sports Stadium at 4pm Ghana time (5pm Nigeria time) on Saturday, it said.

The Randy Waldrum-led ladies are going into the return leg with 2-0 advantage meaning that they need a draw or a 1-0 margin loss to progress to the next stage of the qualifier.

Uchenna Kanu scored a brace as the Super Falcons defeated the Ghanaians 2-0 in the first leg on Wednesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

With the win, Falcons secured their 11th victory in 18 encounters against their fierce rivals ahead of the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The winners of the tie will slug it out with the winners between Niger and Ivory Coast for a place in the 2022 AWCON in Morocco between July 2 and 23, 2022.

The AWCON serves as a qualifying tournament for the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
