Coach of Nigeria National League side, Road Safety FC of Abuja, Akin Onigbinde has bemoaned the impact of the indefinite postponement of the 2019/2020 NNL league season, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

Speaking after his team played a friendly match in Abuja recently, coach Onigbinde said with the recommencement date of the league not yet known, his club has been forced to be playing friendly matches to keep fit while hoping that the wait for the league would not be too long.

“The indefinite postponement of the league is affecting us because we cannot be playing and stop half way. The suspension is the reason we are playing friendlies otherwise we should be playing league matches right now. We are playing friendlies to meet up, to cover the gap created by the postponement.

“You play league, you stop it half way, this is not healthy for the league, the clubs and the players as well as the coaches. The plan and organisation is another problem we are facing. We are supposed to have resumed by now but here we are. League match situation is very important, now we have to start afresh.

“I want to be playing league matches and I hope that whatever is the issue should be sorted out on time for the sake of the league and our players. I commend the management so far on how they have managed the league,” he said.

On the series of friendly matches the team have played, coach Onigbinde said that the series of friendlies the management of the club has lined up was to keep the players fit adding that they will not leave anything to chance as the new date for resumption of the league could be sudden.
