Host team, FCT will today battle Kebbi State in the final of maiden edition of Abuja Beach Soccer final at the Jabi Lake, Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Abuja, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

To reach the final, FCT Team pummelled Kwara State team 10-5 in a one-sided match played on Saturday while Kebbi were confined to a 3-8 drubbing by Badagry Beach Club of Lagos.

The win by FCT Team was their second consecutive victory after they had thrashed Badagry 9-4 in one of the opening matches on Friday.  

The Centre of Unity team took the lead in the 3rd minutes of the 1st quarter courtesy of penalty conceded by Kwara Beach Soccer team to make it 1-0

Few minutes later, Jibril Adam of FCT with a powerful Free kick strike  increased the tally to 2-0

Abuja residents did not regret their support given to their team as they found the back of the next in successive periods to make it 3-0 and scored another goal to make it 4-0 at the end of first period

A penalty kick to Kwara team which they score to make 4-1 in the second period brought out the anger in the FCT team who responded like wounded lion and scored as many goals to bring the score chart to 8-1 at the close of the period.

FCT started the third period well scoring 2 goals, but Kwara beach club scored 4 goals to end the game with 10-5 at the end of last period.

In the first game played earlier in the day, Kebbi Beach soccer team scored the first goal but could not hold themselves till the end of first quarter as Badagry showed supremacy with the period ending 4-1 in favour the Lagos club.

Though Kebbi put up some skills and energy in the second period and were rewarded by two goals to increase their chance as second quarter end 6-3 in Favour of Badagry.

It was not a good period for the Kebbi side as the Badagary scored to increase the tally to 8-3.

Today, the Badagry United Beach Soccer Club will play Kwara Beach Soccer Club in the third place match while Kebbi Beach Soccer Club will test Abuja Beach Soccer Club for size in the final match.

A total of four clubs, FCT, Kebbi, Kwara and Badagry took part I the maiden edition of the Abuja Beach Soccer Tournament 2020.
