Kebbi State Defeat FCT team To Emerge Champions Of Abuja Beach Soccer

Kebbi State Sunday showed their superiourity as they defeated FCT Team 8-4 to emerge champions of the maiden edition of Abuja Beach Soccer, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
In the final played at the Jabi Lake, Abuja, Kebbi defeated the Abuja Team who was a shadow of their old self.
Enroute the, the Abuja Team defeated Badagry 9-4 in the opening match and thrashed Kwara 10-5 second match aged on Saturday.
Expectations were high and hundreds of fans jam-packed the Jabi Lake Artificial Beach Soccer pitch to cheer their team to victory.
However, their experiences extend was dashed when the Kebbi team scored 3 quick goals within 5 minutes of the 1st period to weaken the spirit of the FCT team.
FCT team mustered emerge to score alone goal in the period but it ended 5-1 to Kebbi.
The second period saw FCT Team put up a great fight and scored two goals but they celebration lasted as they came when Kebbi rallied round to equalise the goals and ended the score all squares.
The third period ended 1-1 bringing the scores to 8-4.
With the defeat, FCT team came second while Kwara State took third. Badagry from Lagos were the last team.
FCT Team scored 22 goals in the competition to go home with the silver medal.
Highlights of the match was giving of medals to the players and other various awards to deserving players such as Most Valuable Player, Highest Goal Scorer, etc
Dignitaries that graced the final included the FCT FA chairman, Mr Adam Mouktar Mohammed, among others.
