Anambra State Football Association Announces Sale Of Forms, Election Dates

The Anambra State Football Association, ANSFA, has announced the dates for commencement of sales of forms and election into the board of the FA, Bestchoicesports.com.ng reports exclusively.
In a letter dated May 27, 2020, a copy of which our correspondent obtained, the ANSFA Electoral Committee announced that the sales of forms into various positions in the board commenced on June 1st and will last till June 24, 2020.
The letter sent to stakeholders in the state’s football and signed by the Electoral Committee Chairman, Mr Jude Anyadufu and the secretary, Onyedika Chijioke fixed July 21st, 2020 as the election day.
The letter notes inter alia:
“The Electoral Committee of Anambra State Football Association hereby opens the sale of nomination forms from 1st June, 2020.
“Interested persons are informed to obtain their nomination forms and guidelines from the office of the Committee Secretary, situated at the Anambra State Football Association Secretariat, No 1 Ozoagu Square, Aroma Junction, Awka.
“Sales and return of completed nomination forms for all candidates closes on 24 June, 2020.”


The timeline of the electoral process include publication of candidates full names on June 26, 2020
June 30th is set aside for screening of candidates which will last from 9am to 3pm while publication of names of successful candidates on the ANSFA’s notice board will be on July 2nd , 2020.
July 4th to 14 are set aside for submission of protest letters/petitions or claims of objection while election into the ANSFA board will hold on 21st July, 2020 from 10am to 2pm.
Swearing-in ceremony follows immediately after the election.
However, stakeholders in the state football and across the federation are worried over the feasibility of holding such important election at a time the country is lockdown due to ravaging coronavirus that has affected 13, 464, Nigerians with 365 deaths.
On June 1st, the federal government announced that its ban on interstate movement remains in full force with further briefing on the situation expected on June 21st.
