NFF Receives Sports Ministry’s Approval To Disburse FIFA’s N772 Million COVID-19 Fund

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Executive Committee has been given the greenlight by the management of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, to share the two million US Dollars (N772m) COVID-19 fund from FIFA and CAF across the various clubs and governing bodies of the various Leagues, Bestchoicesports.com.ng understands
The approval was contained in a communique of the meeting of the NFF Executive Committee which was held via video conference on Monday, 10th August 2020.
The fund is meant to serve as a booster for their preparation ahead of the 2020/2021 Leagues Season.
After consultations with the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, the board endorsed the proposal from the Secretariat for the sum to disbursed to football bodies which include Nigeria Professional Football League, Nigeria National League, Nigeria Women Football League and the Nigeria Nationwide League.
The total sum is made up of $1,000,000 (N386m) for FIFA’s support for restarting the football season and $500,000 (N193m) being FIFA’s dedicated support for women’s football.
Also, the sum of $300,000 (N115.8m) is for CAF’s support to its member associations and $200,000 (N77.2m) for NFF’s support from Sponsors’ Funds.
