Best Choice Sports gathered that NFCA president, Ladan Bosso condemned the attitude of Abubakar Bala who resigned on Monday as the Afonja Warriors manager.

The Gombe United manager in a statement credited to him said the Association won’t condone irresponsibility and lack of respect of contract from their members at respective clubs.

“We (Coaches) have to lead by example and show the clubs administrators that we are responsible and we respect contracts that binds the relationship. Bala got it wrong with his resignation process and the Coaches Association won’t support that.

“His contract stipulated that he must give one month notice before he can resign likewise the club must also give him a month notice before they can sack him. On our path as Coaches Association, we should endeavour to respect contract and be the leader in the chain of change in our football.

“Every season coaches would relegate with teams likewise some coaches would achieve success, win the League or finish with continental ticket. In all situation the Association would always advice that our members respect the side of the contract.

“As the President of the Coaches Association, I have never abandoned a club when they are deep in relegation situation, I don’t run (away from) for challenges. I would stay up and fight hard to ensure the team survive, I always respect my contract and that is what I have been preaching to my members.

“When I worked at Wikki Tourists, they gave me a contract that they can sack me anytime, I returned the contract and told them to include my clause as well that I can also leave anytime without notice. The team were fourth on the log when I left them for Kano Pillars, I proved a big point to the management of the team that coaches must be respected and contract must not favour any party. They (Wikki) took the case to the NPL then and I won with my contract details. Unfortunately for them, Wikki got relegated that season.

“I’m the only coach that survived two years at Abia Warriors, why? Because both parties respected the contract we signed. As Coaches Association we have make (sic) our investigation and we have directed Bala to resume back at Kwara United. He must respect his contract and work hard to see the team stay afloat. On behalf of the Association, I want to plead with Kwara United management to ensure that the Technical crew gets all the support from Government. Kwara United fans should also be patient and support the Technical crew.

“I can assure the club that Abubakar Bala will return to his position as the coach of Kwara United on the directive of the Coaches Association he belongs too and we’ll continue to work with our coaches and guide them. I’m also pleading to clubs management to always respect the contract with coaches,” Bosso said in his statement.

Abubakar Bala who is also Nigeria national U-20, Flying Eagles, assistant coach has been scheduled to team up with the National team in Germany ahead of 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland this month.

Bosso added; “Bala has to go back to his work in Ilorin before he can join the Flying Eagles camp. The management of Kwara United owns the right of his provisional clearance to join the national team. However, the management of Kwara United must understand that national team assignments supersede domestic football assignments. At the appropriate time that Bala is scheduled to resume with the national team, the management of Kwara United must respect the national code and release him for the national team.”
