President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Amaju Pinnick who in conjunction with is gang allegedly frittered away $8.6 FIFA 2014 world cup grant and Billions of Naira in NFF sponsorship money and appropriated funds from the federation account, last week brought out formula on how the FIFA/CAF COVID-19 relief funds will be disbursed.

Nigerians and football stakeholders should not be fooled with this gimmick.

Pinnick who is also yet to retire the $10M FIFA 2018 world cup grant suddenly becomes an apostle of transparency in the disbursement of the FIFA palliative.

Not comfortable and having not been used to allocation or distributing NFF funds to its affiliates and clubs, Pinnick initially embarked on a fruitless campaign to convince Nigerians that the specified palliative as a relief fund by FIFA is tied to Imaginary projects in a bid to divert such funds as usual.

But Pinnick caved in to undue pressure from stakeholders and a section of the Media since the National Association of Nigeria footballers (NANF) blew the whistle, Pinnick has become an Apostle of transparency in the disbursement of the FIFA Palliative up to the extent of showing lack of confidence on the NFF and opting to outsource the distribution of the FIFA palliative to Price water cooper (PWC).

We wait on NFF and Amaju Pinnick in spite of the several Financial malfeasance under investigation and prosecution to proceed to publish the financial document in which they retired the FIFA 2018 world cup grant received by the NFF in December 2018. Every attempt by the NANF to get details from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) after two correspondence from the Apex Bank was stalled by powerful interest but stakeholders are determined to recover the 2018 FIFA world cup grant and will soon do so through fresh petitions to the Anti-graft agencies.
