Debutants Gabriel Magalhães and Willian were impressive with a goal and two assists respectively, whil stikers Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were also on target for the North London club.

Taking to Twitter, Oliseh said Arsenal fans should hope for an impressive season if they built on Saturday’s performance.

“Arsenal put up a highly organised, modern, mature and credibly well-rounded performance today (Saturday) versus Fulham. I believe, should they continue this way versus other opponents, Arsenal fans have the right to be extremely optimistic this season. Impressive,” Oliseh wrote.

Arsenal finished eighth last season, their worst outing in 25 years. They however won the FA Cup and started the new season with a Community Shield victory over champions Liverpool.
