Some European clubs joined Nigerians to celebrate their 60th Independent Anniversary on Thursday Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

English Club, Arsenal; German super house, Borussia Dortmund; French giants, Olympique De Marseille; Spanish side, Villareal as well as Nigeria Professional Football League clubs all celebrated Nigeria’s 60th anniversary on Thursday on their various social media platforms.

Former EPL Champions, Arsenal, which many Nigerians such as Kanu Nwakwo, Celstine Babayaro among others played for, celebrated the great day by recalling Kanu Nwakwo’s hat trick against Chelsea in an EPL match in 1999.

Kanu Nwankwo popularly known as Pappilo is a former Arsenal player. His impact on the English Football Club cannot be underplayed.
Other Nigerians like Alex Iwobi also played at Arsenal FC.

Samuel Chukwueze’s Spanish side, Villareal wished Nigeria Happy independence celebration as well as wishing their Nigerian fans a great day.
“Happy Independence Day Nigeria, 60 today! We hope all Nigerian Yellows fans have a great day! #NigeriaAt60,” the club said.

Nigeria Professional Fotbbal League clubs were not left out in the euphoria.
Leading the way is Abia Warriors of Umuahia, Abia State.

On the twitter handle, the warriors said “Happy 60th Independence Day Anniversary to our Beloved country. God bless our fatherland #Warriors”

While Rangers International Football Club of Enugu said “From all of us at Rangers International F.C!!!!!” with a picture bearing Nigeria’s 60th nationhood logo and the clubs flag

Nigeria got independence from Britain on October 1, 1960 after several decades of colonialism.
Since her independence, Nigeria has done relatively well in continental and global sports with names such as Kanu Nwankwo, Chioma Ajunwa, Blessing Okagbare, Sunday Oliseh, Rashidi Yekini, Mary Oyali, among athletes that have raised the flag of the country during global competitions.
