Nasarawa State Gov. Elect, Abdullahi Sule Commends Nasarawa United FC Board
Nasarawa state governor elect Engineer Abdullahi Sule has promised to invest huge time, money and energy in improving the fortune of Nasarawa United Football Club of Lafia, Bestchoicesports.com.ng understands.
He gave the assurance during a meeting with top officials of Nasarawa United football club in Lafia Sunday.
Engineer Sule, who was special guest of honour at the club’s last home match against Kano Pillars at the Lafia city stadium thanked the management club, led by club chairman, Isaac Danladi for the good work they have done in positioning the club among the elites and promised that his administration will use football and sports as a direct platform at reaching out to the youths of Nasarawa state.
He also promised to empower every youth willing to contribute his or her quota to the development of the state, with the needed tools to succeed.
“Sports is the single most unifying factor that brings men and women of different tribes, culture and religion together. We are aware of the role our sports men and women play in Nation building and we will do all we can to leverage on these potentials in sports, especially football to further unite the different tribes and cultures in this state.”
Earlier, during the home tie against Pillars which ended in a goalless draw, Engineer Sule took out time to commend and appreciate the chairman of the club, Barrister Isaac Danladi and members of his board for a job well done. He admonished them to remain resolute in the struggle to make Nasarawa united a big brand not only in Africa but in the world.
In response, Barrister Isaac Danladi thanked the governor elect for honouring their invitation at short notice and promised that his board will not relent in their effort to make Nasarawa united one of the top three football clubs in Nigeria.
The Lafia based club are currently placed 6th with 29 points from 20 games in group B of the NPFL abridged league and are still hopeful of making the super six at the end of the season
