Log leaders Rivers United and their potential opponents in CAF Confederation Cup, Enyimba are the only sides whose goal lines are yet to be breached as the new campaign enters Matchday 4. The latter have played a match less though.

Rivers United won their only away fixture out of three by a lone goal against Abia Warriors on Matchday 2. This evening, they are up against Wikki who managed a goalless outcome at home against Plateau United in their only home game.

While Rivers United have garnered maximum points all the way, Wikki have just one point and lead the bottom four. Winning this evening is therefore crucial for coach Usman Abd’Allah and his squad.

The last two times Wikki Tourists hosted United, they triumphed – 2-0 in 2019 and 1-0 the year before.

Enyimba, who are fifth on the log having played two matches, will engage in one of the southeast derbies of this Matchday. The People’s Elephant come up against the current whipping side Heartland in Okigwe. The Imo State team have lost all three matches this season and have a goal deficit of five.

This will be Enyimba’s first match on the road and they must be mindful of facing the wounded lions. Last January, Heartland shocked Enyimba 2-0 at Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.

The other derby pitches Rangers against FC IfeanyiUbah in Enugu. The Flying Antelopes have fared better since the new season began, winning two out of three as against one victory in as many matches by the Nnewi team.

Last season, Rangers won this fixture 3-1 in January to seal the 4-2 victory recorded in the first leg in Nnewi.

Second-placed Nasarawa United will be in Gombe to engage Adamawa United, who have only a point in possible nine. Nasarawa United were denied their third win of the season by Kano Pillars, who they forced to 1-1 result.

Dakkada FC are aiming for their second victory at home as MFM come to town. Both sides are separated by just one point, the home side having the edge.

For Lobi Stars, who are No 4 on the table, they take a trip to Akure to challenge Sunshine Stars for points. Lobi have six points, while Sunshine have three less. Who wins the Stars’ war at the Akure Township Stadium?
