Church Of Christ In Nations Unveils Light Football Club

The President of Church of Christ in Nations, worldwide, COCIN, Rev. Dr. Dacholom Datiri has said that the emergence of the church-owned club, Light Football club is to use it to give the talented youths in the church and outside the platform to excel in their chosen career and to shine forth the light of Christ to the world.


The COCIN President, Rev. Datiri, gave this submission during the unveiling of the club in Plateau State Tuesday.

The President, who challenged the players to be good ambassadors of Christ, said that the church will do their best in making sure the club play at the highest level of Nigeria club football and the players excel to the top in their chosen career.

Also present in the ceremonial unveiling of Light fc, former NFF Technical Director, Bitrus Bewarang, who applauded the COCIN family for this great step they are taking,which will not only do football on the Plateau good, but Nigeria and the world at large, admonished the players to shun anything like drugs, formication, alcoholism and every act of indiscipline that can put a stop to their success in life.

On his own part, the Chairman, Jos South local government council, Dachung Choji, promised to support the Light football club. According to him: “Am just waiting for the list of things needed by the team and see how we can render our little assistance for this new club to achieve their dream.”

Light football Club came into existence when Coach Alex Enoch, welfare Officer, Nigerian Football Coaches Association, Plateau state Chapter and Coach Joseph Bitrus sold the idea to the Church in 2015 after the first COCIN President Cup was played in 2018 under the Leadership of Rev Dr Dachollom Datiri as President of COCIN.

There are currently forty players in camp ready to be unleashed after a club professional slot must have been bought or acquired by the Church.
