It does appear that the unfortunate incidents of road mishaps involving Nigeria club sides is on the rise these days as the youth team of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Enyimba International FC was Thursday involved in a road mishap

The club confirmed that the team bus conveying its youth side was involved in a road accident on its way from a tournament in Imo State.

Players and staff who sustained injuries in the crash are currently receiving medical treatment.

The past few weeks have seen some clubs’ players and officials narrowly escape death. The latest was Ekiti United who were returning from a training session and their bus was involved in an accident and many players were injured

Wikki Tourists’ bus caught fire while on their way to an away game in the NPFL and last week, Akwa United were involved in an accident in Enugu on their way to honour an NPFL game against Jigawa Golden Stars in Kaduna

Enyimba said that the players and staff sustained injuries in the accident and are currently receiving medical treatment in an undisclosed hospital. The club did not release figures of those injured or pictures of the accident scene
