Super Eagles strikers, Victor Osimhen and his compatriot, Simy Nwankwo were both on target Saturday as their clubs, Napoli and Crotone squared up in a Seven-goal Thriller Ithe Italian Serie A, respectively.

Although Osimhen scored once while Nwankwo scored twice, the former emerged winners in the match played.

Osimehn was on duty with the Super Eagles during the international break last month but failed to find the back of the net in two matches against Benin Republic and Lesotho in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON qualifiers. Nwakwo was not invited for the matches.

Osimhen scored in the 22nd minute through a Lorenzo Insigne’s assist to give Napoli a 2 -0 lead after Insigne had given them the lead in the 19th minute.

But Simy scored in the 25th and 48th minute of the encounter after Deris Mertens 34minute goal to make the score 3-2.

Junior Messias equalised and made it 3-3 in the 59th minute before Giovanni Di Lorenzo scored in the 72nd minute to condemn the visitors to another defeat.

The win lifts Napoli to 5th position while Crotone is deep rooted at the bottom of the 20-club Serie A league.

Victor Osimhen is the joint top scorer of the just concluded 2021 Africa Cup Nations qualifiers with 5 goals.
