Former Super Eagles captain and legend of English Premier League side, Arsenal, Kanu Nwankwo has expressed delight after his erstwhile employers Wednesday defeated Chelsea in a league encounter.

Arsenal had been trailing 2-0 before Kanu single-handedly gave Arsene Wenger’s team three points, finding the net three times with fifteen minutes remaining.

Taking to Twitter after Wednesday’s game, the former Arsenal number 25 said : “It’s always a good day when Arsenal beats Chelsea. Well done Gunners”.

1996 Olympics gold medalist, Kanu was in the Arsenal side that beat Chelsea to win the 2002 FA Cup.

Popularly called Papilo, the former Inter Milan, Ajax and Portsmouth star retired from internation football in 2011 after 86 caps and scoring 12 times in a career that spanned 7 years.
