Minifootball Nations Cup: Nigeria’s Camp Bubbles As 26 Players Gear Up For Glory

Ahead of the 2021 Africa Minifootball Cup holding from 8-17 July, Nigeria team have intensified training in expectations to great outing.

Currently training at the venue of the Championship, the 26 players in camp are gearing up to make Nigeria proud.

Speaking in an exclusive interview from the venue of the tournament, Ilaji International Minifootball Stadium, Ibadan, Oyo State, South-West Nigeria, head coach of the side, Fabian Edaba disclosed that the players are in high spirit.

He told Bestchoicesports.com.ng over the weekend, Coach Edaba said the camp is in good shape just as he added that the players were reduced to 26 players on Tuesday from the initial 40 in camp.

“We finished the screening and camping commenced on Tuesday with 26 players

“They are the players we are going to use for the tournament and I am 100% confidence of the players we have,” the experienced coach said.

“Almost all of them are playing in the league (Nigeria Professional Football League) and the confidence is high.”

He commended the Nigeria Minifootball Association, NMA for their great support and providing the conducive environment for the preparations.

“NMA have been so great, they have been working tirelessly to give us the necessary support and we are grateful to them.

“We remain grateful to them for the way and manner they are coordinating the camping.

Coach Edada expressed confidence that the players will make Nigeria proud.

“With the caliber of players we have, I definitely know that we are going to make Nigeria proud.”

The second edition of the African Minifootball Nations Cup will hold in Ibadan from 8 to 17 July, 2021.

Nigeria is paired in Group A along Morocco, Djibouti and Senegal.

The 8-team championship also have Tunisia, Benin Republic, Burkina Faso and South Africa in Group B.

The opening match will be between Nigeria and Djibouti on July 8 by 8pm
