The Enugu State ministry of youth and sports development have officially inaugurated new traditional sports board members.

The event was held at the commissioner of youth and sports conference room on Tuesday.

The commissioner for youth and sports development, Hon, Manfred Nzekwe, who was represented by the Director of coaching in the ministry, Ken Onuaguluchi urged the new board members of the association to compliment with each other to ensure that the sports develops in the state and assured if the ministry’s total support.

“I’m assuring you that the sports ministry will do everything in its capacity to ensure that the sports move forward in the state, and also that traditional sports is taking to a higher height,” the commissioner said.

The Chairman of the traditional sports, Mrs Chukwu Uche, in her acceptance speech, thanked the members for the opportunity to serve, and appealed for their support in order to move the sport forward.

“I will not stop, until we get to where I believe the traditional sport should be.

“We have to work together as a group to develop a particular place for our sports in the state. As traditional sports association, we’ll fight to make sure that everything about traditional sports will be happening in the state,” the chairman said

She also urged the media to work together with the board members to try and move the traditional sports in the state.
