$25,000 Unpaid Bonuses: NFF Blacklists John Noble From Future Super Eagles Invitation
By Amaechi Agbo
Super Eagles goalkeeper, John Noble may not be invited to the team in the future as the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has blacklisted him from the senior national team
This is sequel to report that emerged last weekend that the Enyimba FC of Aba goalkeeper has not been paid his $25, 000 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON bonuses despite all other players receiving theirs two months after the tournament in Cameroon early this year.
Foremost sports journalist, Shina Oludare on Saturday, December 17 revealed how the NFF refused to pay John Noble his entitlement
“DEVELOPING STORY: Two months after 2021 AFCON, @NGSuperEagles players got $25,000 each as bonus. The only NPFL player in the team, John Noble is yet to get his till date. NFF boss Ibrahim Gusau is aware & not keen to take action. Dear @thenff, Nigerians demand an explanation,” he tweeted.
But it appears that those at the helm of football in Abuja are not comfortable with the revelation and therefore are keen to truncate John Noble’s emerging national career.
It has emerged thereafter that John Noble might not be invited to the Super Eagles camp again following the exposure which rattled the federation
According to latest development, Shina Oludare has lashed out to Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa for claiming that John Noble was unable to receive his pay because “he sent a wrong dollar account number” to the NFF.
This is how Oludare reacted to Ahmed Musa’s claim and revealed that the NFF has vowed never to invite him again to the Super Eagles
“Dear @Ahmedmusa718, you told @osasuo that John Noble dropped a wrong dollar account and as such, he could not get his 25,000 dollars (Afcon 2021 bonuses). That is 100% false! How come he got his daily camp allowances (Afcon 2021) in that same account?
“Noble was first called up in March 2021 for Benin/Lesotho Afcon qualifiers. He got his dues in that same dom account. For other international engagements, NFF paid him through that same account. However, when it came to paying the big one, he was told he sent a wrong details.
“Dear @Ahmedmusa718, just so to let you know that Noble never dropped a wrong account number at any given time. Of course, there could be bank issues and I understand that other five players had same challenge.
“Why was Noble’s case not looked into? It is 10 months already. You are the national team captain – a national figure at that, you should defend the interest of your teammates at all times without caring about whose ox is gored.
“Of course, from the concrete evidences I have, Noble has been told that he would never be called up for international engagements in future. That is okay! Very understandable, but this 25k dollars? He must be paid. He worked for it.
“Noble, definitely is not the first player that will go through this ordeal, but this is arrant nonsense. It must stop! This does not add up. I will call out names in the coming days … Be prepared,” he tweeted on Friday.
The Super Eagles will regroup again March for their continuation of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON qualifying race.
John Noble was among the four goalkeepers former coach, Augustine Eguavoen took to the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon. Others are, Francis Uzoho, Daniel Akpeyi and Maduka Okoye
