Former Super Falcons coach, Ismailia Mabo Dies At 80

A former coach of the Nigeria senior national female football team, the Super Falcons is dead.

Mabo died on the early hours of Monday, March 13 in Jos , Plateau State, aged 80.

He was born on July 15, 1944.He was Super Falcons coach from 1999 to 2002.

Ismaila was the head coach of the Nigeria women’s national team at the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup, 2000 Summer Olympics and 2004 Summer Olympics.

He led Nigeria to the quarter-final of the World Cup, the team’s best record ever at the global women’s football

Before his demise, he was the president of Nigeria National League, NNL side, Mighty Jets FC Jos. He was also the pioneer captain and Coach of the club

His 1999 quarter-final World Cup record has not been bettered subsequent Super Falcons coach.
