Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets on Sunday began their quest for a 3rd U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON glory with a slim 1-0 win against Zamia in Group B opening match.

The match recorded a goalless draw at half time as both teams were defensive minded

But with a little open okay in the second half, Favour Daniel scored the only goal of the match on the 77th minute when he pounced on a loose ball in the area to score for the Eaglets.

Nigeria had a golden opportunity to increase the tally towards the end if the natch after substitute Light Eke missed a penalty.

Nigeria will take on Morocco in their second Group B match on Wednesday by 5pm.Nigeria time.

Nigeria has won the tournament on two occasions in 2001 and 2007 and the result is a preparatory group for the realization of 3rd trophy, perhaps.
