By Ebube Díke
The 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier League, NPL season earlier slated to commence on Saturday next week has been postponed.
The league will now kick-off on September 9, according the league board.
The shift in the date which will now see the league to be delayed by two weeks was necessitated by the need to enable clubs in the CAF Inter-club competitions to start the league same day as others.
The 2023/2023 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup preliminary rounds will commence on August 18 through 20 while the second leg will hold in September and October
Enyimba International FC and Remo Stars are playing in CAF Champions League while Rivers United and Bendel Insurance are Confederation Cup candidates.
Also another reason the league was postponed is to allow for effective installation livestream equipment at the 10 venues already mapped out
The draw for the league will hold on Thursday, August 17 in Abuja
