The contest for the leadership of the NPFL table got a reprieve for Enyimba and Rangers after their rival, Remo Stars were handed a 3-2 defeat by Lobi Stars in Makurdi.

With the scores 0-0 at 95th minute, Rangers vs Enyimba match was abandoned when Rangers was given a Penalty after Godwin Obaje was brought down inside the penalty box.

The assistant referee raised the flag for an infringement in the box and the centre referee pointed to the spot.

Enyimba players broke loose and attacked the AR2 before returning to the field of play and then, walked out of the pitch.

With an unrelenting onslaught from Rangers in the closing stage, the Flying Antelopes were awarded a penalty when Enyimba defender was adjudged to have pulled Obaje inside the penalty box.

In other results of the Matchday 35 matches, Abia Warriors were held to a goalless draw by visiting Bendel Insurance, Lobi Stars beat Remo Stars 3-2 while Bayelsa United and Sporting Lagos encountered ended two goals apiece.

Ten-mam Heartland FC kept their relegation hope alive with a hard fought 3-1 victory over Doma United in Owerri, Rivers United got the better of Shooting Stars with 1-0 triumph. The match between Sunshine Stars and Akwa United ended 2-0 in favour of the former.

On Saturday, Kano Pillars drew 1-1 with Tornadoes, Katsina United walloped already-relegated Gombe United 4-0 whereas Plateau United disunited Kwara United with 2-0 victory.
